Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning is encouraged in our Pre-Kindergarten as students develop skills to support critical thinking, problem solving, independent thinking, initiative, creativity, communication and collaboration.

STEM encourages students with inquisitive minds to ask, “I wonder how? What happens next?” These collaborative processes encourage students to become familiar with scientific processes and mathematical concepts. Individual interests and decision-making provide prompts to stimulate thought processes.

In Pre-Kindergarten, students have displayed these skills throughout the year as they have made rockets, lighthouses, motorbikes, cars, push-pull toys and creative art using a range of mediums. These hands-on inquiry-based learning experiences lay the foundation to increase confidence, foster abilities and plan and reflect in the future.
