Our students had a wonderful time during Book Week as they participated in a range of classroom and school events to celebrate reading and books.

This year’s Book Week theme is 'Read, Grow, Inspire' which reminds us of the captivating worlds and fascinating characters that live within the pages of our books. This special week encourages our students to let their imaginations soar, and to develop a lifelong passion for reading.

We started our celebrations early welcoming Katrina Roe, a children's picture book author, podcaster, and audiobook narrator, to Macquarie to share her latest book, Lily's Balloon.

Katrina helped spark the imaginations of our Pre-Kindergarten to Year 4 students, and encouraged a love for reading and storytelling. Stage 3 participated in an interactive writer's workshop, where they had the incredible opportunity to learn from an award-winning author.

Buddy reading was another highlight when our Senior School students and staff joined our Junior School for a lovely morning sharing books in the sunshine.

We also hosted a Scholastic Book Fair and numerous classroom activities to encourage all students to be excited about reading and learning.
