Western Group Young Judges Finals

On Saturday 19 November, selected members of the Livestock Show Team attended the Western Group Young Judges Finals at the Dubbo Showground.
There were more than 50 young people competing for a place at next year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show and our team achieved outstanding results.
After five rounds in the Paraders competition, Nicola Millar, Molly Quilty and Max Taylor were finalists and Ally Bogie, Angus Johnson, Lachlan Hooper, Hugh Mitchell and Jack Taylor qualified for the State Finals Paraders competition in Sydney.
Jack then went on to win first place and subsequently be our first Macquarie Show Team student to qualify for the Beef Cattle Judging State Finals at Sydney.
Congratulations to these students for the awesome successes they had in the cattle ring!
At the completion of the cattle competitions, Nicola, Angus, Jack and Hugh represented Macquarie in the judging of sheep, grain, fruit and vegetables. Congratulations to Hugh who placed second in Grain and third in Merino sheep.
It was a great effort from all involved in the day’s competition.
