Kindergarten went on an excursion to Taronga Western Plains Zoo on Thursday 1 September as part of their ‘Living Things’ Science unit.

They had a full day exploring the zoo, including a one hour ‘animal encounter’ workshop where they could touch and meet specific animals. They learned about amphibians, nocturnal animals and reptiles too.

After this, students went on a special zoo safari bus and travelled to meet the new baby lions. They got very close to the lioness Imani and had a personal talk with the zoo keepers about her. From here, students ate lunch in the playground and spent the rest of the afternoon walking around and seeing lots of other animals.

Overall, it was a fantastic day out! Students were on their best behaviour and they had an awesome time.
