Macquarie students support bushfire victims

1 March 2017

On Wednesday 1 March the Macquarie Anglican Grammar School community came together for a great fundraising cause.

The idea came about from a Student Representative Council (SRC) initiative which asked each Junior School class to think of a fundraiser. Stage 3 Orange, a Year 5/6 class, came up with the idea to fundraise for the victims of the Sir Ivan Bushfire. Each student from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 brought in a gold coin donation and dressed in mufti in a ‘Country and Western’ theme.

Macquarie Anglican Grammar raised an impressive $900.80 for the Sir Ivan Bushfire Appeal. The funds will be sent to the NSW Country Women’s Association so that they may be distributed to the areas of need.
