From the Headmaster: Term 2 Week 10

From the Headmaster: Term 2 Week 10

4 July 2017

What a wonderful week this last week of term at Macquarie was. We had the outstanding Eisteddfod showcase for our Junior School students on Tuesday afternoon and then our incredible
Athletics Carnivals on Thursday and Friday (see https://www.mags.nsw.edu.au/blog/photo-gallery for photos). Stage 3 were cooking in our amazing Food Tech kitchen and a bus load of young doctors came and checked the hearing of a large group of our students. Our music students headed to Sydney for a number of days to learn more about their subject on their annual excursion.

In our Senior School assembly on Monday we heard about the incredible amount of money we as a school raised for the “Give Me 5 for Kids” program of just over $1200. Thank you to all who were involved in this program. We also spoke of the amazing fun our Macquarie Cattle Team have had and the wonderful experience our photographers had as they spent time at the Vivid festival in Sydney. I haven’t even mentioned the Central West Futsal Championship won by Mr Haddon and his team of young men.

Macquarie is an amazing place of which to be a part. If you get in and have a go, life at school will be amazing.

May I also take this opportunity to thank our staff who have worked so hard over the course of this semester to make Macquarie the incredible place that it is.

At this time I would like to remind all of our families that uniform plays an important role in our school. Most of our young people are very compliant and do their very best to be in the correct uniform at all times and I am thankful for your support with this. I also know that Alinta had a supply issue particularly with the tracksuit pants earlier this term however I have been assured by them that this has been resolved. As we move into Semester 2 may I ask that all families assist their young people in ensuring that they wear the right uniform to school. Uniform sets a particular standard in our school and we need to keep the standard at a very high level.

I would like to wish all of our families a very happy and safe break.

See you on 24 July.
