Dramatic Adventures

22 March 2017

During Week 8 our Year 11 and Year 12 Drama students travelled to Sydney for some wonderful theatrical experiences. The itinerary included “Away” by Sydney Theatre Company at the Opera House, “Mark Colvin’s Kidney" at Belvoir Theatre, “Aladdin” at the Capitol Theatre, a Devising Theatre Workshop and viewing of theatrical archival material at Belvoir Theatre to assist with HSC pre-preparation.

We had a wonderful trip and would like to express our gratitude to Mr Terry Wilcher and his family for his assistance in driving our bus. We also thank Roseville Anglican Girls College for their kind and generous assistance in hosting and accommodating us for this excursion.

As Term 1 draws to a close, I wish to congratulate and thank the Junior students in Stages 1, 2 and 3 for their enthusiasm and keen participation in their Drama lessons. The students have beenvery interested and we have been concentrating on developing our co-operation, focus and teamwork skills. We are working together to better understand ourselves and others, follow directions and communicate. It has been a lot of fun and a wonderful opportunity for me to meet and engage with our Junior School students. I look forward to continued engagement with the students across the rest of the year!

The Stage 5 IBE Entertainment Group are currently organising a School Disco Event together for Years 7 – 10. It will be held on Tuesday 4 April (Week 10) from 6pm – 8pm in the Henderson Hall. Senior School Students are encouraged to support this social activity. There will be a sausage sizzle with a pre-order sheet that has been emailed to parents. Pre-orders will assist the students with organisation of this event and there is a discount for pre-ordered drinks. There will also be snacks available on the night.

Entry is by gold coin donation and the theme is “Black White and Something Bright!”.

We are currently running a Lolly Jar Guessing Competition which will be drawn at the disco as well as Lucky Door Prizes. Donations of Easter eggs or small gifts for these prizes would be welcomed. Please bring donations into Reception. Thankyou and we hope to see many students there to celebrate the end of Term 1 with us.
