Export Quality Lamb Packs Auction For A Great Cause

UPDATE: The lamb packs have been delivered to the winning bidders. Thank you to our school community for supporting a very worthwhile project.

An online auction recently took place via www.nicolaauction.com/bid.php. Packs consisted of a whole lamb less trimmings, neck, flaps etc, vacuum packed and boxed. The lambs were delivered to Macquarie on Tuesday 4 July. 

Nicola Millar aims to ‘make a dent’ through a creative fundraiser.

Stage 3 Peach have been tasked with creating a ‘dent’ project – one of their own choosing, that will allow them to explore what they are interested in. The idea is based on Google’s practice of allowing its employees to spend 20% of their time to work on any project that they choose and Steve Jobs’ mantra “Let’s make a dent in the universe”.

Mixed Media artist visits Macquarie for student interview

Stage 3 Peach ‘Dent Projects’ are coming to an end, and there is an exciting flurry of final activity. Lili Sargeant is writing a book on Mixed Media and how to do it for primary aged children. She is also running a workshop for Stage 2. She had the very great pleasure of interviewing Janene Mcanally, professional mixed media artist today in the school library. Janene was able to give Lili feedback on how best teach people the skills of her craft.

Art students' Vivid experience

On 15 and 16 June, the Ceramics IBE class and Year 11 and 12 Visual Arts students travelled to Sydney to see The Vivid Exhibition.

If you haven't heard of Vivid, it is an amazing display of  light, music and creative ideas. Vivid is a free public art exhibition to cater to all of the Sydney community and beyond. The lights are projected onto the urban landscape and transform Sydney into a wonderland of light, innovative light installations all on a grand-scale for all to enjoy.

Dance groups shine in Eisteddfod

Dance groups shine in Eisteddfod

Over Terms 1 and 2 the dance groups have been working extremely hard to develop and refine our dances for the Dubbo Eisteddfod. Stage 2 performed ‘Best Summer Ever’ from the Teen Beach Movie which was choreographed by Chelsea Munge and Ella Jones.
