Art students' Vivid experience

Art students' Vivid experience

27 June 2017

On 15 and 16 June, the Ceramics IBE class and Year 11 and 12 Visual Arts students travelled to Sydney to see The Vivid Exhibition.

If you haven't heard of Vivid, it is an amazing display of  light, music and creative ideas. Vivid is a free public art exhibition to cater to all of the Sydney community and beyond. The lights are projected onto the urban landscape and transform Sydney into a wonderland of light, innovative light installations all on a grand-scale for all to enjoy.

Some of the canvases for the exhibition included the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House and the Museum of Contemporary Art. However, the Vivid exhibition is not confined to Circular Quay. There are light sites all over the Sydney CBD.

The students were also invited to the Canon Centre where we were taken on a guided tour around The Rocks to see and experience the exhibition. As part of the Canon experience we also participated in a “painting with light" workshop. This took place inside the Canon headquarters, where we learnt new camera skills and techniques. We would like to thank Inland Technology and Canon for inviting us and our teachers Mrs Davis and Mr Turner. All the students loved the trip and had an amazing time.
