As we rapidly approach the final week of Term One, I have been reflecting on some of the wonderful events and achievements that have taken place so far in a year that feels as though it has only just begun. From individual student achievements to broader school events, there has been no shortage of progress.

Grandparents' Day is always a wonderful time for the Macquarie community and last Friday was no exception. Honouring the grandparents and other special family members that make up a vital part of the support network for our students was a true privilege. The pride on the faces of students as they gave their visitors a glimpse into school life was truly heart-warming.

I awoke in the early hours of this morning (23 March) to a thunderstorm as, I am sure many of us did. I opened my radio app and listened to the BBC World Service and was informed of the horrible attack which took place in London overnight. As the day has continued on, what has happened has become clearer, but why it happened has not and may not for several weeks, perhaps months. There are four people dead, one of whom is a police officer who lost his life stopping the offender from getting any further.

Kindergarten visit to Orana Gardens Aged Care

On Tuesday 21 March, Kindergarten visited the residents at Orana Gardens Aged Care. The students engaged with the elderly people by reading them books, playing games with them, singing and other interactive exercises.
